What is balanced living?
To me, living a balanced life simply means, paying careful attention to the different areas of your life and not leaving any of them to chance. You need to be intentional about your spiritual life, emotional well being, physical health, social/ relational aspects, and your intellectual development.
Your spiritual life essentially talks about your relationship with God and this affects how you see the world; your religion, spirituality and beliefs about things unseen.
Your emotional well being is very important because potentially all of the issues related to your life, flow from your emotional state, good or bad.
If you do not take care of your body, it will not take care of you. Be sure to take care of the basics, like the right foods, rest exercise and taking care of health problems, the moment they arise.
How you relate to others is important. How you relate to your spouse, your children, your parents your friends is important if you are going to have peace in your life. Do you know, for instance, who your real friends are?
The fact that you are out of college, does not mean that you stop learning. You need to commit to being a lifelong learner.
In the weeks to come, I will be writing posts related to balanced living, which I believe is my calling. As a balanced living Sherpa, I invite you to come along on this journey. I do not claim to have all the answers. I truly believe that you are never done. There will not come a day when you will wake up and say: My whole life is in balance. My hope is that through this blog, you will find keys that will unlock doors, that once opened will bring you a step further towards balanced living.
