Expect Opposition

The following is an excerpt from His Delight: 31 days of Praise and Worship
If you are going to do anything worthwhile for God, including worshipping and living a life of worship, it is pertinent to realize that the devil is going to fight you tooth and nail to keep you from doing so. The Bible […]

Ways to Praise

(Hebrews 13:15) Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name.
There are many ways of expressing praise to God. Here is a list that is not exhaustive but it lists some biblical ways of praising God.
Some of these have already been dealt with in detail in previous chapters.
1. Singing: When we talk about praise and worship,this is what usually comes to mind (Psalm47:6).
2. Clapping: You can clap in […]

It’s Not About You

Here is an excerpt from His Delight 31 days of Praise and Worship.
There is a popular Christian chorus that starts with the words, “I forget about myself and concentrate on you to worship you”. Worship is about you presenting your life as a living sacrifice to Him. Often,I have heard Christians say things like, “I did not really enjoy the praise songs today” or, “I did not ‘flow’ with the worship songs”; or even “I do not like the […]

Praising God- The attitude of the heart

See and know that I am He,
I am He and beside me there is no other;
I am He the cause,
I am He the effect,
I am He who sits in heaven who rests His foot upon terra firma;
I cause:
The seas to roll,
The earth to spin,
The sun to dazzle, to warm, to blaze;
The trees to grow,
The birds to sing,
The stars to twinkle, to shine, to constellate;
I am:
The uncreated Creator,
The immovable Mover,
The unshakeable Shaker,
The unchangeable Changer,
I […]

Opening Meditation

This poem is part of the Shoetry collection.
God who:
Brings the miraculous out of the mundane,
Brings the supernatural out of the ordinary,
Exhibits glory in apparently lesser things,
Radiates and creates splendor from grit and grime;
God who:
Out of dust created a man,
Out of ashes delivers beauty,
Out of the storm brings peace and tranquility,
Out of despair gives life changing joy,
Out of abject poverty shows the riches of His grace,
Out of weakness brings prevailing strength,
Out of the mire of hopelessness produces a hope and […]
