Expect Opposition

The following is an excerpt from His Delight: 31 days of Praise and Worship
If you are going to do anything worthwhile for God, including worshipping and living a life of worship, it is pertinent to realize that the devil is going to fight you tooth and nail to keep you from doing so. The Bible […]

It’s Not About You

Here is an excerpt from His Delight 31 days of Praise and Worship.
There is a popular Christian chorus that starts with the words, “I forget about myself and concentrate on you to worship you”. Worship is about you presenting your life as a living sacrifice to Him. Often,I have heard Christians say things like, “I did not really enjoy the praise songs today” or, “I did not ‘flow’ with the worship songs”; or even “I do not like the […]

See and know that I am He,
I am He and beside me there is no other;
I am He the cause,
I am He the effect,
I am He who sits in heaven who rests His foot upon terra firma;
I cause:
The seas to roll,
The earth to spin,
The sun to dazzle, to warm, to blaze;
The trees to grow,
The birds to sing,
The stars to twinkle, to shine, to constellate;
I am:
The uncreated Creator,
The immovable Mover,
The unshakeable Shaker,
The unchangeable Changer,
I […]

Opening Meditation

This poem is part of the Shoetry collection.
God who:
Brings the miraculous out of the mundane,
Brings the supernatural out of the ordinary,
Exhibits glory in apparently lesser things,
Radiates and creates splendor from grit and grime;
God who:
Out of dust created a man,
Out of ashes delivers beauty,
Out of the storm brings peace and tranquility,
Out of despair gives life changing joy,
Out of abject poverty shows the riches of His grace,
Out of weakness brings prevailing strength,
Out of the mire of hopelessness produces a hope and […]

How To Enjoy Every Day Life

1. Slow down
2. Learn to say no, don’t say yes to everything
3. Know when you need to take a break and relax
4. Find enjoyment in what you do
5. Laugh
6. Find someone to bless/help/teach
7. Be thankful for the things you have
8. Be happy now, not “I would be happy if only I had……”
9. Do one different thing each day to break up the monotony of the day
10. Praise God at the beginning and at the end of each day.

His Delight(Praising Him)

The following is another excerpt from His Delight. It is a doxology, which is a prayer of praise. Be blessed!
Father of Lights in whom there is no variation or shadow of turning, hallowed be Your Name. How great You are Lord.
You blot out sins and never remember them again. Thank you merciful King for I know there is no sin too big for you to forgive.
Cleanser and Restorer, Baptizer in the Holy Ghost; the One who saves and saves […]

My Life Sucks!

The following is an excerpt from my book His Delight:31 days of Praise and Worship.
You  may be reading this and thinking, my life is a mess, I have nothing to praise   God for. Let me challenge you: you do have something to praise God for and it   is just human nature to focus on all that is going   wrong instead of even a few things that are going right. When I am in the  dumps, I try to […]
